Peter Bussee, M.D.
I did my undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University before attending medical school at the University of New Mexico. I performed my residency here in South Carolina at Greenwood Family Practice.
For 19 years, I worked in a clinic environment before working the next 10 years in medical centers. I then owned my own practice before coming to Agapé Senior Primary and Palliative Care in 2011.
In my spare time, I play tennis, enjoy my stamp collection, and I love being with my three dogs.

Jeff D. Hook, M.D.
I grew-up in West Columbia. I earned my Bachelor of Science in biology from Presbyterian College in Clinton, where I was a member of Sigma Kappa Alpha National Honor Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude. I later received my Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. I performed my internal medicine residency at Greenwich Hospital / Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, where I was awarded their Quality Achievement Award. After practicing in Myrtle Beach, I have been serving patients since 2000 at Midlands Internal Medicine in Columbia.
I am a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and have been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for delivery of quality diabetes care. I have also preformed over 1,000 colonoscopies and have been a trainer for this procedure.
When I was presented the opportunity to join the medical team at Agapé Senior Primary and Palliative Care, I could not pass up the opportunity to come home. I look forward to serving my current patients in a new location, and welcoming new ones.
I live here in the Midlands with my wife Renee and my five children, ages 3 to 18. In my spare time, I enjoy my family, playing tennis, camping, fishing, going to the beach, music, and travel.

John N. Jordan, M.D.
I am a South Carolina native, born in Conway. I received my B.S. degree in biology in 1973 from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. I received my Doctor of Medicine in 1983 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. I preformed my residency in General Internal Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. My board certification is with the Diplomate American Board of Internal Medicine.
My career began as am emergency room physician in Conway then Myrtle Beach. In 1989 I was a Co-Founder of Pee Dee Emergency Medical Associates which contracted with several hospitals in the Pee Dee to provide Emergency Room Physician services. For ten years I was Director of Emergency Medicine at The Mullins Hospital in Mullins. After a hospital merger, I was Director of Emergency Medicine at Marion County Medical Center in Marion. I then was Emergency Room Physician at Loris Healthcare System in Loris. In 2002, I founded Dunes Medical Center where I practiced General Internal Medicine and Urgent Care Medicine. I currently reside in North Myrtle Beach with my wife Debbie.
I am now proud to be a part of the network of Agapé Senior Primary Care. Whether you reside here or are just visiting the beautiful Grand Strand, I look forward to serving you and your family's primary and urgent care needs.
Jonathan Liu, M.D.
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. In 1999 I obtained my Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. In 2004 I received my Doctor of Medicine from East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC.
I completed residency training as a Primary Podiatric Medical Resident (PPMR) at the Department of Veterans Administration Medical Center in 2000. I also was a resident at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and completed the program in Family Medicine in 2008. For the next two years I served as a community family physician in Richburg, SC. I joined Agapé Senior Primary and Palliative Care in 2010.
In my spare time, I enjoy long walks, swimming, and reading. I am married and enjoy good times with our two children ages one and five.
I am proud to be a member of the medical team of the Piedmont practice of Agapé Senior Primary and Palliative Care. I look forward to being a part of your family’s medical team.
Gal Margalit, M.D.
After graduating from the University of London, I attended St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School, also in London, from 1974 to 1979. I performed my internships at hospitals throughout London.
I began practicing medicine in 1980 performing general surgery at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. I arrived in South Carolina in 1982 where I completed my residency in emergency medicine at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia. Since 1986, I have had a private practice in West Columbia.
I came to Agapé Senior as I believe they provide an opportunity to help older adults who have unique medical issues and challenges. I always strive to counsel my patients and their families with the best path to wellness in both body and mind.
I reside in Irmo, and I have two adult children, Michelle and Andrew, who live in Oregon. In my spare time I enjoy reading, swimming, taking scenic walks, old cars, and keeping up on world affairs. I also enjoy traveling, especially trips to the west coast to visit my family.
Stephen Murk, M.D.
I grew up in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, received my undergraduate degree at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, and attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. I performed my residency at Brown University – Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. My specialty is in Internal Medicine.
Before coming to Agapé Senior Primary & Palliative Care, I practiced for 13 years in Massachusetts prior to moving to South Carolina in 2008 where I worked in an urgent care setting for 4 years. I then started a home visit practice at Somerby of Mount Pleasant. I am a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
I reside in Mount Pleasant with my wife Michelle and my two children. In my spare time I enjoy kayaking, biking, reading, swimming, traveling, and spending time with my family and sitting on the beach watching the sunset.
I am now proud to be with Agape Senior Primary & Palliative Care. I have always had a special interest in geriatric medicine and a fondness for seniors. Agapé Senior is a perfect fit for me at this stage in my career as our goals and values in caring for seniors are closely aligned. I always strive to be the type of physician I would choose for myself or my family. I take time to get to know my patients as individuals, and I take pride in my ability to listen and communicate. I love being a part of the team at Agapé Senior Primary & Palliative Care, and I look forward to being a part of you and your family’s life.
Kerry Wheeler, M.D.
I was born and raised in Plant City, in Central Florida. I served proudly in the United States Army as a Medic and an Instructor at the Medic Academy. After discharge, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Biochemistry at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. I then went on to attend medical school at Nova-Southeastern COM in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
I moved to the South Carolina Upstate region to study surgery and critical care, but while doing so, I found my true passion in treating older adults and the health related issues that are specific to seniors. I now practice primary care, focusing on seniors, and I also have a strong dedication to palliative and Hospice care.
At home, I enjoy time with my wife Christy and our 4 boys and 1 girl, and I enjoy traveling, playing the guitar, and scuba diving.
